I've nearly finished the dress; all that's left is the sleeves which have to be pleated to fit the armholes. Super-bulky yarn is hard on the hands, but makes for a fairly painless introduction to stranded colour knitting. So I did the dye job, followed the instructions on the label and everything, and the yarn turned out purple. Purple! How on earth could a pale blue (not white as last week's image has led some of you to believe) yarn put in a darker blue dye end up friekin' purple? I just don't get it. Here's a view of the old town wall.I figure it was built during or after the Thirty-Years War, which would put it's construction somewhere around the 17th-18th century. Some houses were incorporated into the wall, like the one to the right, where the residents served as guards of a sort.
